Thurs.12/7 at 7:30pm: Special Sensory-Friendly performance: "Cinderella -or- Prince Charming Gets the Boot: A West Texas Panto" presented by Lubbock Community Theatre. $10 Child & Senior / $15 Adult."Where Everyone Plays a Part" is more than just our motto: it's our mantra. In keeping with that, the Lubbock Community Theatre is thrilled to offer a sensory-friendly performance of Cinderella - or - Prince Charming Gets the Boot: A West Texas Panto.
This delightful romp has already entertained plenty of families, but we know that some patrons may need a show that is a little less intense and a little more comfy. House lights will remain up throughout the performance, there will be flexible seating to provide extra comfort and wheelchair access, and the audience need not worry about making noise - in fact, noise is encouraged!
Regular admission policies apply to this performance, so be sure to visit our ticket portal and get your seats squared away as soon as possible. If you have any further questions about this special performance, please contact Executive Director Heather May.
While this sort of offering is the first of its kind at LCT, it certainly will not be the last. Starting in the Spring, we intend to provide a sign language interpreter for one performance of each show, allowing our hearing-impaired patrons to follow along with the text and better enjoy the show. We will also be providing a sensory-friendly performance for each children, youth, and family-friendly production.
Cinderella -or- Prince Charming Gets the Boot: A West Texas Panto is a 'panto', short for 'pantomime' which is not a silent show of mime-style acting, but rather a loud, whimsical, exceptionally fun free-for-all based on a popular family-friendly fairytale-in our case, Cinderella--full of contemporary songs, physical comedy, and audience participation.
