Mon. 5/29 from 10-11am: Annual Memorial Day Service @ The City of Lubbock Cemetery.

In commemoration of Memorial Day, the Nancy Anderson Chapter of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in conjunction with the Historic City of Lubbock Cemetery, will hold a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 29th, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets as chair seating will be limited.

Congressman Jodey Arrington, U.S. Representative, District 19 will be the featured speaker. Girl Scouts of America Troops will place flags on gravesites that have a Veterans Administration Memorial headstone or footstone. The Singing Men of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church will be singing The National Anthem and God Bless America, and The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will present our Nation's colors and honor our Veterans with a 21 Gun Salute followed by the playing of TAPS.

Those attending the Memorial Day Service who have a loved one who is a veteran and who is buried at the Historic City of Lubbock Cemetery are encouraged to attend the service and place an American flag at their loved one's gravesite. It is estimated that there are more than 2,000 veterans who are buried at the Historic City of Lubbock Cemetery.
